The mission of the Communications Department is to provide accurate and timely information to the school community and the general public about the district. The department also supports schools and district departments with a centralized printing services operation. The Communications Department is under the Chief of Staff and District Relations Division.
The Communications Department supports schools, departments and executive management with internal and external communications. Responsibilities include crisis communications, media relations, employee communications, website maintenance, issues management, event management and parent communications.
Communications staff are also the content producers for the district's Twitter, Instagram and Facebook pages, constantly on the outlook for new ways to communicate better with our families and community.
Products produced by the department include publications such as the Facts for Parents, photographs used on the website, digital publications such as Newsline, production of the Board of Education telecasts, as well as videos and promotional material. Printing services handles in-house or coordinates outsourcing of duplicating thousands of pages of instructional and other material every year.
The department is comprised of highly-skilled staff, with specialized expertise in their respective fields who interface with management and staff throughout the district.
