Working With Images

Adding Images into a Content Box

When adding an image to a page, do not copy and paste it directly. Use the Image Manager (the 🖼️ icon) and follow these rules:

  1. Upload the File: Click the Upload button in the top menu of the Image Manager to select your file from your computer.

  2. Clear the Pixels: In the Properties panel on the right, locate the Width and Height fields. Delete any numbers currently in those boxes.

  3. Set to Percentage: * In the Width box, type 100% (or smaller if you don't want the picture to span the whole width).

    • Break the blue "link/chain" and leave the Height box completely empty (this allows the height to scale naturally so the image doesn't look "squashed").

  4. Add Alt Text: Enter a brief description in the Alt Text box (e.g., "Students working in the lab") for Accessibility compliance.

  5. Insert: Click the Insert button at the bottom.

Note: Images and graphics that are text-heavy are not compliant with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). Large pieces of information should be added to the post using text.
