Career Pathways and Courses
Career Technical Education (CTE) courses are offered in 15 industry sectors tied to local economic and workforce needs. CTE is comprised of a sequence of courses-exploratory, foundation, intermediate and advanced. These courses provide high school students with skills necessary to succeed in post-secondary/college education, entry-level employment and career advancement. The instructional integration of academic and workplace skills provides career awareness and exploration, including internship opportunities. Over 60 CTE courses are approved for UC "a-g"college entrance credit.

Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps (JROTC)
Since 1919 JROTC has benefited students by fostering academic, social and personal achievement. JROTC provides students with instruction and guidance that accelerates student achievement and opportunities, including college/university admissions and scholarships.

IMIN Afterschool Program
Funded by the 21st Century Grant, IMIN provides afterschool learning opportunities for high school students such as career exploration, credit recovery, and enrichment activities.

CaVE Grant - Creating a Village for Educators
CCTE, in partnership with UCSD, has been preparing our teachers to offer the new AP Computer Science Principles course. This includes developing curriculum and partnerships to support our students from middle school to high school with clear pathways to success in both college and career in the ICT industry sector.
