More than 600 San Diego Unified educators and staff members enjoyed an afternoon "Nature Retreat" at the 2nd Annual Employee Fall Festival. This year's event focused on the five essential elements of well-being -- physical, financial, career, social and community.
Staff from across the district received free health screenings, took part in mindfulness activities, explored financial and retirement planning resources, and browsed the resource fair featuring local wellness service providers, shops, and vendors. Not to mention all of the fun goodies and prizes employees won at the opportunity drawing!

Focusing on the overall health and well-being of our staff is an important part of creating environments for our students to thrive. When the adults who care for our students feel supported and loved, they are better able to serve the needs of students.
