Position Control

Position Control

The Position Control unit is responsible for tracking board-authorized positions along with personnel allocations and expenditures. This system provides checks and balances between staffing decisions and budgeted appropriations. Budgeted positions and position allocations are compared against actuals which facilitates vacancy identification and staffing request processing.

Position requests will continue to be reviewed by the Position Review Committee.

The process begins with the school or department submitting a Personnel Action Request (PAR). If the PAR is requesting to staff a position (including filling budgeted vacancies) or change the full-time equivalents (FTEs) of a position, the PAR will be reviewed to validate that funding is available and then forwarded to the Committee for a decision.
